Stan Squirrel Announces Birth of SFA Stan Squirrel, a Squirrel rights activist, today launched the Squirrels for Australia Campaign. What follows is a transcript of Stan Squirrels stirring speech to a gathering of celebrities, sportspeople, politicians and Squirrels. "Our aim is to bring Squirrels to the wide brown land down under. Australia is the last great frontier for Squirrels, with the exception perhaps of Antarctica, but who wants to live there? I have a dream. A dream that one day Australians will sing songs like 'Tie me Squirrel down, Sport' and 'Where the Squirrel sat on the tuckerbox, nine miles from Gundagai'. A dream that the day will come when Squirrels may roam freely from Glenrowan to Gunnamatta, from Bondi to Broken Hill and from Melbourne to the Murrumbidgee. Join the SFA to help make my dream a reality. Thank-you." Stan Squirrel The Office of the SFA Friday 3 March, 1999 |
